Lisbon - to the beach and Cascais

Today was all about food and more food, the entire day was planned around where to eat and what to eat and it was a very good plan. We drove to the coast to a small beach where ten of us took part in a lunch that lasted for three hours or longer..sardines, fish roe, cuttle fish salads and boiled potatoes, served with green wine..after we had eaten, drunk and talked of everything and it's possibilities we lay on the beach to digest our meal as the warm afternoon sun bathed us golden brown. Around seven pm the sun had slid behind us and we were recharged for the next portion of our gastronomic journey: A visit to Cascais a quaint, slightly touristic, gently gothic town on the other side of the water from Lisbon. Here the ten of us sat down to an Italian feast loaded with olives and breads and a crispy white wine called EA..
