Party Time!

Seven am is not everyone's idea of party time, but here in Sapa it is the perfect time to get things started before the day gets hot..so we had a party with chips and biscuits and I got to hang out with the buffalo girls and buy some stuff, the Black Dxoa couldn't make it so they came to the hotel early and I was able to keep my promise to them.

A perfect day for the party!

And everyone was happy , it was a very cool morning and while the bargaining was firm it was fair and everyone came away with pretty much an even slice of the pie, along with the biscuits and the chips.




These are things for the house, for my present house, and as a part of the manifestation of the new house that we will find when our lease runs out in March..hey Sam, you like the new cushion covers!

This morning I was able to connect to Sykpe and call Severen, it looked like a cold Melbourne morning. The government has given her a scholarship for books and she is happy at the prospect of the new semester and enjoying having her sister in town. Bahamania - days of luxury and leisure

My journey to the Bahamas was incredible, the location is stunning, there's no rubbish on the beach, and while the underwater environment, although clean, seems a little devoid of life it seems the resort does good things to encourage growth and minimize harm..People are friendly, I found out there were original inhabitants but they were taken by the Spanish to be slaves elsewhere and then the British left Africans freed after the abolition of slavery to live in The Bahamas as free men and women. There are words like Goombay and Jankanoo that are Bahamanian and refer to festivals but are also the names of drinks and corn chips...

June 2016 Cheating a bit.  I wrote this trip up for Gaia Discovery and have copied the piece here with some additions that are more personal: After an arduous and extended journey of delays, technical problems and missed connections I stumbled into a smoky Medan bar in the middle of Ramadan to be greeted with beer.
