Off to the Movies

This evening Jenny, the lovely girl at the front desk, asked if I could help out one of the guests, a French-German boy called Michael, and as I had already done Jenny a favor by moving rooms I said ok I'd try:

Michael's problem was not quite what I expected, two girls who work in the hotel are 'in love' with him and he likes them both equally and was wondering what to do as it had been suggested, by Jenny, that he take one of them to the movies. Now they wanted my opinion.

Ha! They should have known better that to ask me! Now Jenny, Michael, me and the two love-sick girls are off to the movies for a night of social fun and NO broken hearts...
We are going to see the "A" Team.



The A team was action packed...and the cinema was in a very plush shopping mall. I will return there and see more ..maybe even another movie. Michael will be back in Germany but Jenny and Shan were keen to go again.

Neither of the love sick girls showed up so who knows what that was about..

This morning I was able to connect to Sykpe and call Severen, it looked like a cold Melbourne morning. The government has given her a scholarship for books and she is happy at the prospect of the new semester and enjoying having her sister in town. It was great to have a chat...seeing her on the screen was a lovely start to the day..Yeah Zaba! And this one is Bella on the beach..I am so proud of my girls! Bahamania - days of luxury and leisure

My journey to the Bahamas was incredible, the location is stunning, there's no rubbish on the beach, and while the underwater environment, although clean, seems a little devoid of life it seems the resort does good things to encourage growth and minimize harm..People are friendly, I found out there were original inhabitants but they were taken by the Spanish to be slaves elsewhere and then the British left Africans freed after the abolition of slavery to live in The Bahamas as free men and women. There are words like Goombay and Jankanoo that are Bahamanian and refer to festivals but are also the names of drinks and corn chips...

Tripping Along

After I left LA I flew to Washington and met up with my friend Bekah and together we flew to Orlando, Florida where I spent a great night with her mum and her mum's husband George. We went to the beach, Bekah ran and I sat on the beach with George who was very interesting, and gave me some ideas about direction. Being in the midst of such a dynamic interesting family was fantastic after my LA Alone Time. The next day I went back to Orlando and flew to Nassau in the Bahamas...and entered another dynamic family, the one of Hannah, Jasmine and their mum, Re. The beginning of my Bahamas vacation...the challenge now is to have, to take, to enforce myself into vacation mode..what is that?? I am used to exploring, to seeking out, to engaging with people around me.
